My incubator stinks! HELP!

i found the bad egg! i smelled them all again this morning and whew, it was stinky. sadly, it was our one and only turken egg, but oh well, next time. even though we took it out, could it already have harmed the other eggs?

eggs do give off an odor that is sort of musty.. maybe that is what you are smelling?

I mix all my new hatchlings together.. ducks, geese, guineas, chicks and turkeys.. all I do not have in the brooder right now is a goose, but he his pipping as we speak.. I also have 3 new chicks that just hatched this morning..

I have 2 sportsmans filled to capacity right now, and I use a 3rd one for a hatcher.. I do big batches of chickens.. 14 dozen, 5 dozen, 8 dozen, going right now. 50 guinea and 55 turkeys, 12 geese and no ducks...

It could have, but it might not have.. it is just mildly toxic and takes a little while to do great harm.. just glad you found it.. Now you will never forget that smell.. as soon as you get a hint of it,,in the future,, find it immediately..

no, this one smelled really bad. and worse than the other eggs. when we threw away the eggs we knew werent fertile, we were unsure about the darker eggs, so we just left them because we weren 100% sure, and the egg was a dark one, so everything makes sense. thanks to all of you! and today begins my 6 day staggered hatch, and its my first hatch so it should be a challenge, but im very excited. and 5 are due to hatch on Easter, how lovely

the other 3 are strong and are doing really good and i have an amerucana almost out right now and a silkie that should be out in the next hour or two. all is going pretty good, considering it is my first time....and i see how you guys get addicted to this...i cant wait for these to all hatch so i can get some more...all of my eggs have been exactly 2 days late, my temp must have been a little low....

I've done well with staggered hatches, but through the course and by the end it stunk. That was after a few hatches though.
