Hello, my name is KC, I have 4 children under age 12, 16 goats (of varying breeds..angora, pygmy, boer), 3 llamas, 2 ponies, 1 guinea, 1 duck, and presently about 75 chickens. I mostly have chickens that the kids show for 4-H, so currently we have 10 white leghorn and 10 red star chicks in the brooder, along with 5 Easter eggers for fun. I have a Brinsea mini-advance with 3 eggs ready to hatch this week in my son's classroom, and an incubator with a variety of 30 eggs in my daughter's classroom due to hatch next week. I have a black orpington roo, a Buttercup roo, a naked neck roo, a cream brabanter roo, and a blue cochin roo right now. I have silver laced wyandottes, naked neck, Polish, Spitzhauben, houdan, black orpington, splash orpington, white rock, and partridge rock hens currently laying. I would like to add bantam silver laced wyandottes, but am looking for good show stock and have yet to find it. I had tried hatching some eggs I purchased online, but the temp in the incubator got too high after a power outage and I lost them all. :(

I enjoy reading about the chickens, and am working toward having quality show birds as well as the good egg layers for 4-H. We will also do the cornish cross starting in May for market pens for the fair for 4-H. Looking forward to learning more about everything chicken!
