I'm not new, but I wanted to do this because I never had a proper introduction.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We first go chickens on February 28, 2018. We got a new flock this march.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

15. 7 hens, 5 pullets, and 3 cockerels (which we don't want!)

(3) What breeds do you have?
hens (1 1/4 years)
  • 1 Delaware
  • 2 Rhode Island Reds
  • 1 Buff Silkie
  • 1 White Silkie
  • 2 barred Plymouth Rocks
pullets (8-9 weeks)
  • 1 Buff Orpington
  • 1 Speckled Sussex
  • 1 Australorp
  • 1 Mottled Japanese Bantam
  • 1 New Hampshire Red
cockerels (also 8-9 weeks)
  • 1 Black Japanese Bantam (keeper-he's so cute!)
  • 1 Buff Bantam Cochin (re-homing in process)
  • 1 White Crested Black Polish (re-homing in process)

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

They are such unique and interesting animals, each one has a different personality. Raising them is such a joy in my life, I don't want to stop! :love:D

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

not much, really. I like drawing and exploring, and playing video games
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

I have 3 younger siblings and 2 wonderful parents. we have fish, that's it for other pets.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?

I found byc through by friend lily, who also raises chickens. she told me about this awesome website called backyard chickens.com. I tried it out and was attached instantly.
