hi I'm heidi. I have my very first flock of 6 chickens. They are almost 5 months old and we just got our first egg 6 days ago! its been extremely hot here in south Florida this summer so I've been putting ice in their water feeders (3 of them) a few times a day. I also put a baby pool in their run with ice as well. I lost a chicken on Saturday (jet black frizzle) and I'm pretty sure it was due to the heat. I also run a fan during the hottest part of the day. Ever since losing Gregory Peck, I've been hyper vigilant with keeping them cool. Any other ideas? I appreciate any suggestions. We are heartbroken over losing GP

So sorry you lost Gregory Peck. Sounds like you are doing your best to keep everyone cool. I think many of us are wishing for cooler temps and lower humidity.
