So my welcome email says I should post an introduction. While my disposition is to be the happy little chick scratching contentedly under a bush only to look up and find all the other chicks have gone off chasing some bug or another, I will give the flock life a go
.
Currently, I am starting off with a new batch of chicks. Twenty-one little darlings to be exact; 1 Americana rooster, 1 White Giant rooster, 8 RIR, 1 Dominique, 2 Red Star (sex link), 3 Black Giants, 4 Dark Cornish and 1 White Rock . We have just moved to upstate SC, sadly having to leave my old flock of 9 behind. With their age, 6 years, the move was going to be too traumatic when we had a neighbor that was willing to keep them all together and give them a happy home. The animals that did make the move with me, though, are my husband, son and dog.
Thanks also to those of you who already posted a reply to my request for a good watering nipple. We have not used them before but want to give them a shot.
