I thought the template would work as a sort of jumping-off point, almost like an interview. So, here goes:
(1) Are you new to chickens/when did you first get chickens? My boyfriend & I are fairly new to chickens. We've had chickens since April of this year. Our chickies (Red, Rocky, and Kallie) were born around the 24th of March.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 3. No, wait-a-minute, it's 5 now.
(3) What breeds do you have? We started with one each of: Rhode Island Red, Plymouth (Barred) Rock, and DeKalb Amberlink, Last month we got 2 more: another Red and Rocky(still not sure about names), about a year & a half old.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I don't remember. I think when we were first thinking about getting chickens, we did a search and came here to check out different breeds
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Besides the chickens in the backyard, we have 3 gardens, a traditional row-style, a Square Foot Garden, and an herb garden near the back door. I also love to read, and I think I'm addicted to "looking up stuff" on the internet.
(6) Tell us about your family ... or anything else you'd like to share. Our teenage son has 2 older sisters, and the 3 of them think we're nuts for having chickens in this city backyard (of course, they never did "get" why we have canaries and parakeets, so, go figure).
