Lucky! My Silkies (not mixes) are more than 8 months old and aren't doing anything that even suggests they'll lay anytime soon

I have 4 silkies that are 7 months old and one started crowing about 2 weeks ago but no eggs or crowing from the other three. Is it common for silkies to start laying later than other breeds?
