Hey everyone!
My chicks arrived today and so far I've had them for 3 hours. I ordered 8 straight run chicks from Cackle Hatchery and I received 9. All seem healthy and active and they have all ate/drank with enthusiasm. One kept putting her head up and back so far she was doing back flips at first. It was very cute. Now she (I hope it's a she!) is drinking regular. They take fast naps, run back to the food/water supply, then they go on back to the heat lamp area to relax, stretch and sleep. One is already a little curious and keeps walking up to the camera when I take pictures. Now I just have to wait patiently to see how many males/females I have and let's all pray none get cross beak.
*Update: I did the feather sexing method to check for gender today and it's looking like I have 8 girls and 1 boy
.So basically his name is Hugh lol. In a few days I'll check again when the tail feathers start to come and let everyone know what that suggests.
