My husband's shift changed and now he doesn't get weekends and friday off he just gets 2 days in the week and to top it off he's working 430-9 30 which means he won't be home to help with the kids at all! I;m already stressed with school and my one child who as asperger's/tourettes/adhd/ocd is so much of a handful even at almost 11! usually I send him with the kids off to church so I can catch up on things around the house:( this sucks!

That is rough! Do you qualify for any in home help with your special needs child? Call social services and they may be able to hook you up with some help. Good luck.

I'm supposed to be signing him up for disability but his worker keeps saying "next time" hopefully we get help soon.

go to social security and start the process! My son gets SSI and i never had a case worker do my stuff for me. Next time means NEVER. I get $600 a month in supplemental security income for Wiley who was a preemie. And medicaid.....know what services take that card. Just gotta find out where and who. I go to a place called the sweet center mental health services for mine. Do your own leg work, that lady has probally a stack of people and you will get lost in it!!

2nd .................your not alone. mine works sat-wed 3rd shift 10pm to 8 am in the morning( bt he sleeps from 7pm until her leaves and comes home and sleeps till 4pm). I have a 17 year old, two 10 year old foster kids(on ADHAD and behavioral issues out the ying yang) a 4 year old ( who has possible adhd, ocd and more)and 3 year old who is language impaired(not to bad though).

3 dogs, 2 cats, 4 goats, 30 -40 chickens

Just saying................ you get through it!

I agree, get started on the SSD yourself. With that diagnosis, you should be able to get some respite care.

i can kind of relate..my husband works 6 days a week and sometimes on his day off, he works side jobs..but its what it takes to pay the bills! just take the time you do have and do something special with it.

Ok here is my two cents. Be VERY thankful the man has employment. Really. Count your blessings first, then complain. It's what I do.

I've counted my blessings but this one came out as not one

I hate change of shift, It disrupts life. Some times it's just nice to have an extra set of eyes. My husand is in an electric wheel chair due to muscular dystropy but him being home helps alot. Spring please come so I can atleast take the kids out of the house all day !

There is nothing worse than having kids stuck in a winter bound home. I feel your pain, and I am thankful, to a point, that mine are older now. To a point. GAWD young adults are a pain in the patooty!!!!
