My Little Flock of Three

I cannot tell you how much I love my babies. The chickens are two months old. I have a cochin hen and a mystery rooster, and I have my sweetest one, my black Spanish turkey jake who is roughly three months old. I love him to pieces. He's the best bird I have ever raised.

Their pen got destroyed in the recent storms, but they are all so good about sticking around and being caught up that I can let them wander for a bit. I can't leave them unattended because I have a big owl in my trees, a bunch of dogs who won't do anything, and at who won't listen. I cannot let them freely roam the farm without supervision. Here is my micro flock. I love them so very much.

Build a shelter, or coop for them ASAP. If you are just going to stay small volume, then you may consider one of the coops available on EBAY for around $200. Don't feed that owl..... Don't let your dogs have a chew toy.

My dogs are good, but the turkey might provoke. He flat goes after my Sheltie and has since he was little. If she harmed him it would be self defense. Lol. I wonder if it is because she looks like a fluffy black fox.

They are definitely not free roaming now. Not that I don't trust them. I'm sure they would stick around. They are just too little and wonderful to be tossed to the world. They are sitting pretty in a show cage next to the pieces of their pen waiting for my next day off. The pics were just letting them out to roam under watch.

Their actual house(not the ugly box I have for their pen now) is planned for my next paycheck.

They are all beautiful! I hope you get their enclosure fixed soon. You don't want any mishaps. Sorry about the weather, causing you to lose the enclosure. I wish I could have a turkey too, I've always wanted one. Its great to know you love them. Maybe I can persuade my hubby to let me get one!
