my lonely little pheasant

if i could i would catch that biddy and look close , too fleet of foot for me , no eye patch ident 3 foot range , guess i got a hen , i had 3 golden eggs and 3 lady A eggs , this thing has yellow legs , not blue. expect golden . cocks are more pretty but hens lay eggs , infertile eggs i would boil up and pickle , quite the addition to my gourmet meals.

bird is still alive , it wants to be outside still brooding in the bathroom , odor seems not a problem since i put a negative ion generator in there ,excreting everywhere . i have 9 peafowl eggs in the incubator day 14 . bird spends the days in the window looking out , finally got my 40 in x 40 in x 80 in little pen finished , but it is out in the noon day sun and hot here on the highland rim Cumberland. close to the front porch [ front yard birds !!] there is a nice evergreen bush there [ heavy foliage on top open under and lots nice branches for roosting ] i want to build a bamboo frame around and enclose with net , 4 foot high , 9 ft wide 7 foot deep , i do not want to put that bird out until i fix up that net around the bush , for shade . should not be so hard to rig up that net around the bush ,, cut the bamboo , verticals horizontals and diagonals , lash it up with paracord , spread the net .
i have a 40 in x40in x 120 in pen waiting assembly , link it to the 80 in off the side , out in the front yard , not mowed the thing [ yard] this year , had crimson clover knee deep there ,gone by , but i rekon the birds have a good time digging in that . i hope i get a good hatch on those peafowl , try to fast track them to free range , tips , suggestion , remarks are welcomed by an old man , alone except for the cats ,, the cats love to sleep by the door to the bathroom where thee little golden is

Your golden is a bit over 6 weeks if I'm doing the math right. Probably not far from being able to go outside.

Don't free range a pheasant. The peafowl can be free ranged, but some or later something is liable to eat it. As far a I know, basically the same rules as chickens and guineas. Keep them penned so that they can see the area for a few weeks, then let them roam a bit in the afternoon / evening, with an evening feeding to bring them back in.

A post in the peafowl forum will likely get your a better quality answer. Once had peafowl for a year plus, but I don't free range them.
