(Not looking for advice just telling my story.)below is my before pic...

I received mail ordered some chicks from Meyer Hatchery they were on the road 2 days, after they hatched. When the chicks arrived I held each chick as I dipped their beak into a tiny cup of yolk water.(the yolk water was NEVER left in the brooder, just mentioning this so people won't go into a tizzy, also wish I didn't have to say this at all but anyone putting anything up know what I am saying. sigh.) THEN I would dip their beak separately in their plain waterer and set them in brooder on the tiny chick quilts and beds I make, then put a few baby chick food on the bed for them to eat until they got used to eating from a feeder. One chick "Honey" a SS, was acting sleepier than the others she kept her eyes closed all day, didn't eat, but did get sips of yolk water, I always made sure it was fresh. And not in the brooder... (the above pic was the chick 9 hrs after it was home.) One day and 1/2 later the below pic, chick is now eating and hopping about, and has a messy chin.

Looks fat but it is a bad angle, she wanted me to delete that pic, I told her it is fine.

Thank you!
Hi, I know you posted picks of this baby years ago, but I was wondering if you could tell me if this baby tuned out to be a hen or roo? I also ordered from Meyer and our chick looks exactly the same we as yours. I know SS aren’t necessarily sex linked, but with the stubby, even primary/contour feathers, and the broken line from head to back, I wonder if our little Strawberry will be going by Berry in the future. Thanks so much!
