Well, one of my exchequers went broody so i thought I would give her 6 eggs to sit on, they were all white exchequer eggs, the rest of my hens lay brown eggs, turns out they were all duds so I removed them, she still insisted on sitting, so I gave her 6 brown eggs. One of the eggs was bad 3 hatched this past week end 26/07/2024 the other two were duds as well. The cockerels are 2 Norfolk Grey's, this is classed as a rare breed, someone dumped them both on the lane where I live last year. So we have acquired them to save them from the fox, they were about 3 month old and very tame. Anyway, one of these is the dad, the mum could be any of 3 breeds that we have, Sussex (white with black on neck and tail) Bluebell (lavender colour with grey legs) and Rangers (all brown). The chicks are black with two of them having yellow bums and a yellow spot under the beak. So cute, she is a very good mum.
