My new bantams

I got 2 pair of Japanese bantams from a breeder there is 2 black hens 1 black rooster and 1 silver rooster 1 hen and the silver rooster is going to a friend of mine and I'm going to keep the other 2 for maybe taking to shows by definitely breeding them
Anyone got any advise for someone who's not 100% familiar with the breed?

By silver do you mean Black Tailed White?

When breeding Japanese if you breed short legged to short legged then some of the chicks will die in the shell which is why some breed short legged to long legged Japanese.

How do u know if one has long legs or short legs?

He is a Grey Japanese. He is short legged just like all the ones you have pictured. Long legged Japanese look a bit like Old English game- instead of looking like they are sitting they look like they are standing. So since they are all short legged about a quarter of the chicks will die in the egg but at least the ones that hatch will all be short legged.
