My sil has no idea what she is, or what color eggs she lays and I cannot find any pics of her. Her name is Devil hen, I just posted about her in raising baby chicks. her earlobes are white, and her legs look like they are grey or bluish...I can't see really, like I said, she hates me, and I can't lift her crazy butt with one hand and snap a photo with the other.

Looks like an American game hen, or game hen cross. Is she super protective of her nest? This is a typical trait of many game hens. I have had a few that I thought were going for the jugular.....

like Dustin said she looks American Game to me to.. If you think she is fisty now whate till she hatches them eggs.. LOL they are good mother hens...

I named her Devil hen because she hates me. She screams at me when I talk to her, and growls at me when I look at her, and if looks could kill... Yesterday she tried to remove my arm at the elbow and today she bit me really hard. I know she is just being protective. My SIL had no idea what she is, so i'm fixing to post a pic in the breeds thread.

this is a piece of my raising baby chicks thread...she already has 3 chicks under her. I found them yesterday, when the arm removal started. I think the would have gone for the juglar, if she didn't get my arm first.

I think she should have horns

That most definately sounds like a game hen to me. She will protect those chicks to the death! If you leave her with them, she will raise them. They are great mothers. From my experience, they never really get over this "attack" mode with they go broody. Not all game are this fiesty over their nests, but once they are, there isn't much you can do to change it. I try to just leave them be as much as possible. If I ever have to move a hen like this, I bring the broom with me. I have had several come off the nest at my face....

I have 4 American Game hens I use for egg layers and if one goes down I just let her go she knows what to do.. You might want to invest in a good pair of welding gloves.. LOL
I let mine free range and mine will chase a cat out of the barn if she thinks the cat might cause harm to her chicks..
