My new "broody coop"

I got the desk from freesources.org, and my DH built a little coop in case I have a broody or for when I get more chicks. It's not winter hardy, but pretty sturdy!
Still needs painting, though (that's my job!) Total costs ~ $25.

Once you get it painted it will look real nice, hope you will post some more pictures then.


I wonder about rain though, you think it will hold up to the weather?

Are you going to put a floor in it?

My DH put varnish on it, so no need to paint! He is going to have it on a base, tilted just a little to let the rain run off. I suspect that I will need to add roofing shingles at some point, but someone is giving them away on freesources right now!
This was a pretty easy project and someone with more time could make a good small backyard coop for 2 - 3 chickens.
