I ordered a bunch of chicks from Ideal and got them two weeks ago. I lost 4 and was shorted 2, but the ones I have left are doing great.
Here they are a little over a week ago:

That is all. I will post more pictures when they get feathered out.
Anyone want some fancy roosters?

Thanks for sharing those great pics! What a wonderful collection of chicks you have.

I especially like the one of your son sitting in the pen with the chicks! Sooooo cute~~that would make a great card for relatives, I think!

They are beautiful, and interesting looking!

Just a question -- i didn't know you could hold a chick by it's legs like that -- I always feel like the legs are so fragile and could break when they're so little. I do have a heck of a time holding onto them, though, just in my palm. Can someone educate me?

I have no idea if it is right or wrong, but I just tell my son to hold the legs so they won't get away and so I can see more of the chick for the picture. I also have him hold the chest for support. He does not squeeze hard.

Yeah, the chicks certainly don't look like their having any problems being held like that, and your son looks like he's being gentle. I didn't know if it was a 'technique' or something I didn't know about...
