I posted on here a couple weeks ago that I had placed a deposit on some Nigerian Dwarf doelings.

I picked them up yesterday. They are settling in to there new home very nicely.

Katie is 3 months old, Ginger and Minnie are 2 months old.

Minnie was one of quadruplets, and was bottle fed, so she is tiny, smaller than Ginger who is the same age.

Katie and Ginger are registered, and Minnie is not, her sire is registered and her dam is a fine milker but does not have papers. We got Minnie because my daughter fell in love with her. The breeder let her feed Minnie a bottle while we were there.

Katie is white, with gold marking on her face, and legs. Ginger is solid tan. Minnie is solid black with white speckles behind her ears.

Katie is the oldest and is much larger. She is firmly taking control.

Congratulations! They are so adorable! I've put a deposit down on two Dwarf Nigerian wethers. We should get them by mid-June.

Just curious, will your chickens free range with your goats? I'm planning for ours to be in the same area during the day.

I love my Nigi's. Too bad you folks aren't closer. I have lots of babies that need to find new homes. My boys just went to the sales yard. I really hate doing that with such quality stock, but too many non productive mouths to feed otherwise. I don't need 20 bucks for my 20 does.!~! LOL

Yes, I have an acre fenced in. When I got the chickens, I built a very nice run, but as it turns out the chickens free range all day. All they do in the run and coop is eat, drink, and lay eggs.

When I decided to get goats, I decided to utilize the run to build their shelter and have a place to secure them at night. Like I said, I spent a lot of money on a run that does not get used.

Here is a picure of my coop and run when I finished it last year, and how I converted part of it to a goat house.

I just need to add a gate to completely be able to seperate them.

This is my coop and run when I finished it last year. My daughter Rachel is the big ham.

I converted the left side to a goat house.

Please, before anyone tells me this isn't enough room for goats an chickens, all of this is inside an acre fenced in.

That looks great! Thanks for posting the pictures. Your daughter is a cutie, I have three around her same age that totally mug for the camera, too!

We are converting an old shed into a coop/goat house. I will have seperate "living quarters" for each but they will probably need to use the same door. Any advice on that? Any other advice for having goats and chickens free range together?
