Hi good friends. I'm in process of calibrating my new Hova Bator 1602n with automatic turner. I bought because many breeders in my area says these are kind the best you can find (wafer thermostat).
It came without fan, so I installed a 12v PC one. with a space of 1/2 cm between it and the top, and the center hole open.
Now, temperature goes down during night, but not too much. The ambient temperature changes from 24-26° C (day) to 18-15° c (night).
I have three thermometers, two digitals and one mercury one (that come with incubator).
I put in three diferent parts, one is on left side, other is under the fan and the other is on right. In the center, under fan, temperature loks good (37,2°-38,3°) however, on left side is lower (36,2°-37,3°) and on right side, is warmer (37,8-38,9).
You think can be there an explication for this situation? I put reeves pheasant eggs, one i candled has now the blood ring, but i'm worried about how it ends or if this is acceptable.
Please help friends.
Best, Roy

Have you set all 3 thermometers next to each other in the house to see if they all read the same? That could be some of the reason for the variation.

I have quite a few thermometers (around 7) and almost none of them read exactly the same, 3 of them read within .4F of each other and that's the ones I use....

I have had my best luck with these....

77F during the day and 60F at night is a very big swing for the incubator to keep up with. I'm surprised it maintains the internal temp well with those big ambient temp swings.

Mine is kept in a climate controlled room which swings about 4 degrees F. My incubator usually swings .5F between the coolest temp in the morning and the hottest temp in the afternoon.

Hola! thank you so much for your response.
Yeah, i put three thermometers together and (not truly exact) they read pretty similar temperatures, the same in the mentioned areas (I moved them together throught the three places of the incubator).
I plan to add 25 quail eggs on May 1st. (I'm in trying mode still hehe) Want to make sure everything works well. My golden and reeves pheasant are laying their first eggs (the first 9 between both are those i put in the incubator some days ago).
