my New mallard wont stop eating feathers? normale???

my new mallord eats lots of feathers. off the ground or in the pond she sneeks up behind the pekin and cresteds and plucks the feathers out of the hind ends! is this normale? i noticed that the pekin i got with her also eats feathers but not as many as her
any ideas? your ducks eat feathers?

feathers have protien in them and her being new was she not given enough protien sources? I know I read that young ducks shouldnt have high protien but maybe she needs a upped amount?

well she is 2mths old and was raised on medicated chicken food. could this be the issue?

i think they are perferred to stay on nonmedicated so it could be im not sure hopefully someone with more knowledge sees this post soon and helps ya!

one of my mallards did that too!! SHe picked the other ducks all the time. She doesnt do it anymore, but i do let them out to free range now, i dunno!

well i have her on nonmed. waterfowl food now and all my duckies free range. she gets lots of bugs and food and treats....i just dont get it but i hope she stops soon
