My winter coop is built from exterior door cut outs collected from a local company, thes are insulated so cut them so they slide together, 2x6 floor with groove and toung, very minimal framing, and i screwed it all together, the roof are panels as well but i covered it with ice and water sheild, sided it for looks, i have vents in the peak and one window in the back from a exterior door, one hatch so i can let them out on nice days, its lighted with two energy efficient lights on a timer, i also put a oil filled heater in but havnt needed it, without the heater our coldest nite the lowest temp in the coop was 9 degrees, quite compfortable. Not bad for nova scotia weather
