My Old English Game Hen play hid and seek

My hen keeps laying her egg in different places. She only 5 months old, could she be going broody?

I had a five month old Ameraucana that laid her first 6 eggs and then promptly went broody. I need to breed out broodiness from my flock.

I thought broodiness was shown more in not wanting to get off her eggs, or wishing she had eggs under her and not moving.
Have you tried keeping her locked up until after she has laid?
