My old hen stopped laying for a few years and has started again

i have a healthy 8 year old silkie hen and she stoped laying about 2 years ago but And to my surprise I found her sitting on 10 eggs today I’m 100% sure they are hers because she lives in a house by herself and last time checked her coup was a week ago I do have a cockrall and was thinking mabey these eggs are fertile. But I was just wondering if any of this behaviour is normal or not

Try candling them. If there's ten, she's probably been laying for ten days. Do you know how long she's been sitting? If it's a week then you'll be able to see embryo growth. Candling with a phone light works well.

I tried candling them but today was her first day sitting on them I do hope they are fertile thank you

A broody can be hard on the body so make sure she has adequate feed and water Good luck!
