Donuts
We have a hen that is two years old now and her name is Donuts(I did not come up with it.) Anyways she has just always looked beat up. Surprisingly she is the second in the pecking order, so she is the one who usually beats up others. Donuts is a very sassy little chicken and she has always been the smallest. She is a golden laced wyandotte and not very pretty either. Though I love her and she has a big personality. She enjoys Bananas, worms, and pretty much anything.

You should. She might have an infestation. Check your other birds too. Is she laying eggs?
Yes, she is laying eggs. I occasionally dust their coop with DE. If she does have mites or lice can I treat it with DE?

So I just checked her for mites and she might have it. I picked her up and checked her vent and saw little black things around the base of her feathers that were near her vent.

Did you get any pics? Check under her wings too and look for white protrusions on her feather shafts. Those are nits.
