My own dog - I feel betrayed!

I have two female labs..one is old (14yrs) and the other is younger (6 yrs.)...the old lab would not hurt my chickens or pygmy goats but the younger one has killed one chicken and attacked another...I love my dog and my chickens, dog was there first and I feel she is doing what comes naturally for her (hunting)... what I do is allow the dog out first 1/2 - 3/4 of the day then bring the dog inside and let my chickens and goats out...best thing all around.

If you really want to keep the dog, there are ways to do it. Churchx3 has a good solution. Training is always good, but it takes time. More with some than with others. Chickens run, flap, and make funny noises. Most dogs chase things that run, flap and make funny noises unless they're taught not to. I hope you can work things out.
