Today is day 18 for my incubator, day 19 for a broody hen. All my own eggs.
The hen is set with 1 doz welsummer plus 2 blue am eggs.
My incubator I set eggs that I shipped to Texas with a address mistake

and the post office marked them return to sender

.
I couldn't see tossing them so I set them. I set 17 welsummer eggs and 7 black sex link eggs. The eggs were in the mail 6 days.
Today is day 18 for the returned eggs. On lock down now are 16 welsummer and 7 black sex link.
I'm very happy with this, never knew I would of been shipping my own eggs to my self. But it was a great opportunity for me to hatch my own shipped eggs.
I'll up date with the hatch number.

Update chicks are hatching,
The broody has chicks she hasn't got up with them yet will post number and pictures as soon as she is up.
Incubator 2 hatched 2 pips on the black sex link.
Will add more later.

My broody hen has hatched 100% 12 / 12 welsummer eggs.
The 2 blue AM x EE was a test run there not fertile yet. That's ok my girls are young and so is my roo. I have more set well see how they do.

Hi! I've hatched my own shipped eggs here before. Once was when I first started shipping eggs and mailed a box of eggs from my Moms in GA back to myself and set them *just to check*.
Another was when a buyer was unavailable to accept delivery and wouldn't pick it up at her PO --- told them to "throw the box away, because they're no good anymore". Postmistress at buyers PO said "we don't thow away packages". Yes, I called the Post Office and talked to the individual that took the call and the PostMistress. Buyer told me in email "Eggs arrived and were broken". USPS returned the box to me.
The box was delivered back here in perfect condition. I set them and they all hatched.
Good luck with ALL your hatches!

Hi Lisa, I had thought about shipping eggs to myself. It was a good chance to see how the eggs do.
So far I have 7 of 7 black sex link hatched so 100% on them.
And 2 welsummers have hatched and a few have pips. But to my experience with welsummers in the incubator is they are slower than other breeds to hatch.
The hen is up with her chicks she killed one by stepping on it so she has 11 now.
pictures coming asap.
