I found her this morning on a nest near the barn.
This was the first night she did not stay in the barn.
She is in lots of tall grass under a tree. I will try to get some
pictures.
Yay! Hope she hatches out some cute babies for you. Mine are still not sitting, my Mamma Jane spends a lot of time looking at them though. Had 15 eggs out there the other day before I gave some of them away
Here's a peahen nest hide out story. After much searching when the peahen went missing my daughter found her and her nest of five eggs on the very top stack of hay bales in this huge old hay barn. we counted days and went to check on her they'd hatched, sent a cage up for my daughter to put the chicks in we only found 4 decided something had happened to the fifth one, took the chicks to my mother who raised them all. As they say: here's the rest of the story we didn't see the peahen for sometime we were starting to think a varmit might have gotten her when here she shows up with her good sized chick that turned out to be a hen.
So happy for you! Hopefully she is within hearing distance in case anything disturbs her during the night. I always leave my windows cracked when the peahens are nesting, I want to be there to intervene if something were to hop the fence and attack her. Less than a month to go!
