I planted carrots in a 20 gallon grow bag. They were coming up nicely and were about 4 inches tall when I thinned them. The next day after thinning them, I went out to water and something had dug them all up in the bag!
I thought it might be our cat although he has never bothered our potted plants before...always finds a dusty spot to roll and prefers sand for litter.
So I tried putting them back as best I could. This has happened four more times now, and today I caught a cat sleeping in the dirt in the bag. He ran when he saw me...not any of the neighbors cats.
My carrots were ruined this time. I gave up. I have no idea why he only digs up the carrots. I have about 20 different grow bags out there, some with less vegetation and more dirt.

Man, that stinks. My problem this year was that the little seedlings couldnt take being watered. Like, what in the world? The ones right next to it planted in the ground were fine... why weren't the ones in the growbag fine???

That is weird! I had never used grow bags before and I love them. All my plants are thriving (except the carrots, of course). I even planted potatoes and they are doing great! I did end up planting another batch of carrots but I brought the bag inside for now.

our cat used to do that in one of my strawberry beds then just randomly stopped on day. Put the pot somewhere else? on the positive side its only april so theres still so much time to grow another pot of them // I use fabric pots for my trees and love them

I have a pot of strawberries that the cat hasn't touched. It is so weird. Yes, thankfully I still have time to grow more.
What kind of trees do you grow in the fabric bags? I hadn't even thought of growing trees in them.
