My Poor Chickens!

My Poor Babies! This morning I went out to water my 6 RiR's, you won't believe what I did! I sat their waterer on their house, preparing to screw on the bottom of the waterer, and Julius my roo ran up to me. I bent down to give him his good morning loving, and my waterer fell off, soaking me, the chickens, my rottweiler, everything! Poor babies! At least we're having unusually warm temps in NC this week!

We have 8 to 10 inches of fresh fallen snow this morning. Even though I shoveled a nice pathway, I couldn't convince one chicken to come more than 2" from the doorway. Most chose to just stay in.

It's been extremely cold in NC for weeks, colder than we are used to (probably not that cold to you!) but we're having this weird warm spell now, it was 70 yesterday! Always happens before Christmas, we never seem to have a cold Christmas, much less a white one! Oh well, I can still wish for one.
