I recently got 2 free chickens from a previous owner... well the hen looks like this..

and im new to this. I'm assuming the rooster did it to her, so i immediately seperated the two.

Is there anything i can put on her back to heal faster or should i let it heal on its own?

Triple antibiotic ointment and blue Kote. Keep her separated or get her a saddle.

She doesn't look too bad. The feathers will grow back on their own. Just keep the rooster away from her. I have my roosters in seperate pens.

Saw the roosters spurs off. He is gouging her in the back when he treads her. That will make a sore spot and get infected.

First thing I will do is EAT THE ROOSTER, then I will do what the good folks on BYC said.
