Hi everyone. I'm hoping y'all can give me some advice for what I should do for my 3 yr old blue suffolk ewe.
Last night cause we had tornado warnings I had to take her out of the stall she was in, and put the horse in there. Alll the stalls were full so we blocked off the aisle way with plywood and left domino (my sheep) in that area. Sometime during the night she knocked down one of thhe plywood barriers and got into 3 of the food bins.
One was horse feed but there was only a scoops worth in there and she ate that. then she got into the sheep food bin and ate the rest of that ( 1 scoop maybe a little more). She then got into the cow feed and ate an unknown amount of it.
This evening when I got back from classes she had diarrea and is acting ill. her ears are flopped down and she stands by the water and drinks small amts often.
Im also worried about the baby she has in her...is there anything i can do for her or will she get over it? Will it kill the baby or make her abort?
Sorry for all the questions, she's like a pet to me and i love her so much.
Thanks for anyones help and replies.

OH NO!

But this thread should be posted in the emergency threads maybe?

I hope she and her baby get to feeling better and get over this.

Suppose that means you all were passed over by the tornado...thank Heavens for that.

It's entero...you need C/D antitoxin, in large amounts, and QUICKLY. Also treat for bloat with Therabloat or mineral oil.

What is C/D antitoxin?
I have minral oil how much should i give her?

hope shes going to be okay!

30-60 cc mineral oil, drenched

C/D antitoxin is the injectable medicine to TREAT entero...should be available at your feed store. You do not want toxoid....that is the actual vaccine which is moot during acute illness.

I just read that you should give her 30cc of oil. Just make sure she doesn't inhale it. The C/D is for overeating. Look it up online it will explain it better. I'm on my phone otherwise I'd post a link for you. Good luck, I hope she's feeling better. I'd love to put an invisible/underground dog fence around my goat feed so the goats would learn to stay away from it and so they wouldn't maul me everytime I go to feed them.
