my pullet wont lay? UPDATE

i have a 6 month old Australorp pullet, Sally, and she hasnt layed in about a week. she doesnt seem to be in any pain or discomfort at all. and she looks completly happy. im not sure whats going on...is there something wrong with her??

ok, i have looked EVERYWHERE and no eggs.
the other two hens have layed but not Sally
and now im really worried

If it's hot up there that may be why. Or she may be going into molt. Lots of reasons...

its not the hot out. its only like...69 degrees. and i thought pullets/hens molt when they're atleast 16 months or something

They can molt at any time, although it's usually later in the fall/winter. As long as she's healthy I would just be patient...maybe she just needed a break.

Might want to check for something stealing her eggs, or a hidden nest somewhere- mine started a big nest of eggs under the front porch- by the time I found it there were 24 eggs in it!

True...forgot about that. I thought my egg production had gone way down and found these:

I forgot to add: I had a hen go broody, but she never had more than one egg under her at the end of every day- then I saw what was happening- a rat snake was going right under here and eating the eggs! Now THAT was an instant heart attack! She wasn't at all bothered by the snake, just stood up and stepped over him.
