Here are my seven lovely girls. <3 They're about five and a half months old, and I raised them from day-old chicks.

This is Barley. She was the first to start laying and she's the most amenable to being picked up, but she picks on Peaches and Five like there's no tomorrow.

This is Peaches, who got a little camera shy, but she's the sweetest thing. She'll hop up on my lap and cuddle up with me all the time.

This little girl is kinda maroon-colored, so of course I had to name her Five. She's a little runty and she's got the squeakiest squeal I've ever heard. She laid a few really weird purple eggs for a little while, but she seems to have gotten over her pigment issues. :p

And here's Sassy (short for Sasquatch for her HUGE feet) also known as Sassypants and Sassy McFly. She's the biggest and absolutely belligerent. She'll go out of her way to step on me. :p She and Five are buddybuddies.

And finally, these are the Ethels, whom I can't quite tell apart. So they're just all Ethel.

(Ethel One had broken a talon when I took this, hence the apparent one-leggedness. She's fine now. :) )

I love my flock. They're so friendly--I'll go out to the coop with a scrap of plywood to sit on and they'll all jump up and roost on my legs. (And occasionally try to chill out on my back, or worse, my head.) We've been getting six or seven eggs consistently for the past week or so. :D

They look like friendly, awesome, chickens!
