My rooster is not mating

My rooster is 2 years old and have never seen him mate with my hens, he even does the rooster dance . We don't have any other rooster and I keep a good eye on him and never saw him mate. I got him as a coloured chick, so could it be he didn't have it in him? Is there a way to push his instincts a little ????

Have you checked your hens eggs for fertility? Your rooster is most likely mating with them when you're not around.

When rooster's mate it takes less than a minute. So unless your there for a good part of the day with him, I would think you won't see it.

I know it's hard to spot but I've had him for two years and not spotting it atleast once is a little odd, don't u think
