Rooster has been here 4 days. He is a rescue. Large White French Marans. Day 1 they got here late Rooster and 2 hens. Kind of stayed to themselves. Day 2 I thought the Rooster was walking gingerly. I am not familiar with feathered feet and legs. As I was able to get closer I noticed his feet looked red. I took photos and took pics to vet for opinion. He gave me a medicated soap and said to put on him each evening. If no improvement he would need to see him. Of course that was on a Friday and his feet have progressively gotten worse. He is quarantined at this point. What can I do for him until I get him to a vet.

Sorry about your roosters feet! I don’t know anything about this but maybe @Wyorp Rock can help?

I agree with it being Scaley Leg Mites. If he’s been around the rest of the flock, you may need to watch everyone else to make sure it hasn’t spread. I would also recommend cleaning out the coop thoroughly and spray it down with an insecticide that’s safe for chickens.

We cleaned it well, sprayed all new bedding. Thank you
