My run!

I need to make it bigger, and more predator proof.. What do i do??? Its 17 by 19 now or something like that.. what should i do? Thanks!

How much bigger do you want it to be? Extending the run will not be difficult, just cut down one of the walls, add more posts, and extend the fencing however many feet you want. To make it predator proof I would use welded wire with hardware cloth along the bottom 3 or 4 feet to keep critters from reaching in. Bury the wire or put a hardware cloth in a curtain around the bottom of the fence to prevent digging. Putting large rocks or bricks around the outside can also deter digging. I would cover the top also with some kind of wire or netting to keep out hawks. You can also put electric/hot wire around the coop for added safety if you have a big predator problem. Good luck!

This is the new run dh built last spring,I have a potatoe barrel in there for them to lay eggs.It has chicken wire and on the bottom we brought it out about a foot and then used garden staples to hold it down and aviary netting on top so hawks can`t get them.
