Today, my dog got loose with the two remaining puppies. One is sold to Perfectly Polish and one was not sold yet. The neighbor brought them back but didn't think we were home and someone stopped and picked up both pups from my front yard and asked if he knew who's they were. He said he thought they were ours, but they worried about them being hit by a car and knocked on our door but we were putting our boys down for naps and didn't hear them knock. So we went looking for the trio and found my dog at the neighbor's house and he told us that someone had taken the pups, so we thought they were stolen. I drove up and down the road to see if I could find a vehicle of the description and DW even called the police, thinking that the pups were stolen. The lady that had them saw me drive by with my dog in the back and recognized her and flagged me down. She gave them back to me and I am thankful for her getting them out of harm's way until we could find them. She had been planning on coming this evening to make sure we were home when she brought them.
I found out that they have chickens and gave her four birds I have been getting ready to cull to make more space. I also referred her to BYC.
She is interested in getting more birds from me in the future.
Ironically, her husband had been looking for a male heeler and just bought a female four days ago because he could not find a male. Remember, I had 9 males and a female in this litter! I offered to let him buy the last male I had left but understood why they couldn't because they just got the female. So she came by later with her brother and he bought the last puppy here!
All in all, it was a happy ending to a scary situation. All's well that ends well.
