my silkie is getting a friend....

The hubby and I went to pick up our first silkie on Saturday (we also got a chick). But our older silkie is 9 weeks old and she is outside in her tractor so that other the other chickens can get use to her! Well being in ther has been driving her cra) by herself. The guy we got her from had 2 hens (sisters) but we only wanted one. Well since she is lonley (and the hubby hasn't fallen in love with silkies now) we are going to pick up her sister tomorrow!!!!!yay she is going to be so happy!

I like to keep my chickens in their little social groups. I notice in hatches I will have 2-3 girls that pal up. Are you sure that they are girls though? Silkies can be super hard to sex.

Yes, the breeder that I buy from can sex chicks and they are 9 weeks old so you can tell they are definately not looking like their rooster brother..completely different looks.
