This was my sons first year at 4-H and of course he decided to show a cockerel.

We hatched these blue laced red wyandottes from Blisschick here on byc. Bronzie (cockerel) is 15 weeks.
The day before the show all nice and clean.

Wow. Congrats on your first win! I'm starting showing in the spring. Is there an age limit on show birds?

In Michigan it is 19 years old. Good luck - it was alot of fun. It did rain buckets the whole time, but guess that's better then 90 degree's. Thanks.

Wow, I'm impressed!! Congrats to your son!

I'm so proud of my babies!

How many did you get out of your hatch?

Congrats! Great to see some kids are still involved in 4H.

That is one nice-looking bird, BTW.

Thanks everyone. My son is already looking thru the chicken breed book trying to figure out which one he wants to show for next year. Keep in tune as I will want to hatch them myself and will buy the eggs from someone on byc - hopefully.

Bliss - I had 8 hatch out of 15 sent. The weather was also bitterly cold when they were sent (my fault not yours). IMO it was an awesome hatch rate for late winter.
