My son messed up!

My girls just turned 20 weeks old and one started laying. So I switched them to layer feed. We have 3 week old chicks in the house on starter/grower feed. My son mixed oyster shell with the starter feed and now I can’t give it to my little girls. Can the 20 week old hens still use the starter/grower feed with the added oyster shell? And I have more oyster shell available in a separate container… I KNOW the little girls can’t have oyster shell or layer feed… thanks

The older pullets can eat starter grower. It might be better for them than layer because of higher protein ect. It will be ok if the oyster shells are mixed in for now, but in the future consider just feeding them on the side. Laying birds will pick out what they need.

Everyone can eat the grower with shell, even the little girls, as they likely won't eat the shell.

I would be fully comfortable giving the mixed feed to the older birds.
