I am just so thrilled that our first hatch was such a success!!!

Out of an original 22 eggs, we have 18 healthy chicks, one died after zipping(? why ?) and three didn't develop. AWESOME!!!! Next time, I plan to make sure the humidity is a little higher during hatch. I'm thrilled!!!

Congratulations!
That sounds like an astounding success rate.

Seeing as three didn't develop... That's more like a 94.7% hatch rate. Most people don't count infertile eggs. Congratulations!

Could you share what you have for an incubator? What was your humidity and temp pre and post lockdown? Always curious to hear what worked for folks. Thanks:)

I was wondering the same thing.... congrats on your exceptional hatch!!!

Thanks! We're so excited!

I have a Hovabator Genesis. At lock down, they went into my homemade bator... styrofoam cooler, hot water heater thermostat, 25 watt bulb, computer fan... I had the tem between 99.5 and 100.5, and the humidity at lock down was 70-80%. I started out with it at 70%, but I could tell that the membrane was a little tough, so I upped it to 80%+ and I think it helped a lot! I don't have a turner in my homemade bator, so I only used it for lock down... I have too much craziness in my life to hand turn!
