Dialog...with the dude at the Livestock Feed & Maintenance Dept.

Me: "Hey! I am looking for a product called "Orange Oil" which is used to paint the roosts in the chicken coop to keep mites/lice away?"

Dude: "Well, if it's a paint it would be in the Paint Department."

I tried to explain that it was NOT a paint-per se but he had already shut me off and pointed me in that direction. What the heck...I give people the benefit of the doubt, right?

So, I go to the Paint Dept...

(Eyebrow goes up and did I just hear you "DUH" under your breath there buddy?)

Dude: "Did you try the Livestock Feed & Maintenance Dept?"

Me: "Yes--and he directed me to you!"

Dude: "Oh well...we don't carry it (duh!) but, you might want to try Sherwin Williams!"

Yeah! I tried that too...once I gave up on asking for help from those inbreds! Sheeesh!

This is not the first time they've displayed lack of intelligence.

I am, too, baffled as to why he'd recommend SW. Go figure!

Nothing is more aggravating than asking someone at the big stores for help.

The last time, I asked a person where I could find a plastic bucket. He led me around for a good 10 minutes before I finally thanked him and found one in the car-washing area.

Shoddy
customer service is what you got. I've worked for both Ace and True-Value years ago. A good customer service rep would have looked it up in the books for you if they didn't know what it was right off the bat. The books will tell you what department, product number, price, cost, order multiples, etc.

There were times I was asked for things in the store I couldn't find right off the bat, but I was able to get close. One example was when a customer asked for the material to replace the plastic straps on a lawn chair. Now keep in mind I was working in the plumbing department at the time. I told the guy I wasn't sure if we had it or not, but to go over to aisle 22 as that is where the lawn chairs are and I will page a sales rep to that area to assist you.

We did have it, and it was on aisle 22 but I couldn't nail it down to the exact spot. The customer came back with the material in hand, but rather than say "thanks" he made sure to drag me over there and chew me out about I should know what is in the store. Ok fine, I wasn't positive we had it. But in my department alone I had more than 40,000 different products, just remembering that was hard enough.

do you have a lowes? lowes has it in their garden section where they keep organic stuff.

or do you have a whole foods? if so, they have it also.

They are probably sniffing their paint fumes.

Try asking for Orange Oil for cleaning like that loudmouth guy on TV advertises. I bet they lead you right to it.
