I forgot to mention we added power to to the turkey barn. They have a fan during the day as it is hot here, and I have a light and outlet in there now. We did put a couple inches of sand in, we put some shavings and straw but not much. It stays dry and I scoop it every couple days with a kitty pooper scooper to keep the waste from getting too much. We are still working on the outdoor space. I had no idea how fast they would grow compared to the chickens. I did leave a couple of the Buff Orpingtons in with the turkeys because my chicken coop is full and I didn't want the hens to be over crowded.
Even with the strong brackets on the perches we are going to have to add center supports because the Toms are so heavy they make the thick dowels wiggle when they get on.
