My turkey hens are damaging each others feathers.

my hen’s keep pecking at the Tom’s breast feathers and beard. The younger one also keeps pecking her mother’s chest. They do this after getting down off the perch, and when bored. It was just pecking stuff until now that the mother, who is dominant over everyone else, has damaged feathers above her tail and on her breast, I think her daughter caused it. She doesn’t care, but i was wondering why the young one does this.

It's a turkey thing. It's what they do in confinement.

It can also be due to a protein deficiency in their feed. Feathers are high protein sources.

They do that, if you don’t mind temporarily purple turkeys, use Blu-Kote!
