Okay my Broodie bantam black cochin (boy say that 5 times fast) hatched 4 eggs a day early while I was at the Sprint League (rowing) Regatta in Sarasota FL with my son.
She hatched 4 of 6 eggs, one was a dud and the other I suspect was also not fertile because she kept tossing it out of the nest and finally pecked at it till it broke.
2 of the eggs were standard sized. One was dark brown from my Cuckoo Maren's whom I was hoping bred with the Copper Marens but I do have 3 big roos so one is never sure.
The other egg was a light colored mystery egg
and the last two eggs were bantam eggs from my bantams who are all black cochin except the barred bantam cochin roo.
What I got was a lovely black standard chick who has black leggs so I am hoping she is all Maren's
I also got a standard wellsummer mixed chick that looks very wellsummery
I got a little bantam black cochin
and the surprise of surprises.....Ta Da!! A bantam EE mixed with the black cochin (my bantam girls are all black cochins) I don't let them mix but some how, somewhere that little bantam EE roo must have had a secret dalliance with one of my cochin girls
Here are the photos:

The littlest biddy is hard to photograph but I will keep trying. They love to dive under momma's feathers.
