My very 1st egg on my birthday! What shall I make?

My Gertrude just layed her first egg today!

Which is cool for two reasons;

1) Its my first egg too!
2) Its the best birthday present ever!

So now what? I'm torn between just making a farm fresh egg for breakfast, or using it in cake, or scrambling it and giving it to Gerty, or ...

What did you make with your first eggs?

I don't know. Almost 4 years ago I got my first egg on Christmas Day-and accidentally broke it.

What a great birthday present!!! My first egg was laid on Oct. 14th, which turns out is National EGG Day!! I thought that was cool. My first few eggs were incorporated into a baked cheese/bacon/ bread casserole that my mother calls "egg strata." I couldn't fry the first eggs since I was blowing the contents out so that I could save the shells. The other option might have been scrambled. Hope yours is/was wonderful however you use it! And Happy Birthday!!!
