My very first egg!

I assume she is an adult you got recently since that is a LARGE egg?? I can remember my 1st chickens first eggs(plural because had a few pullets at the time) and the eggs were tiny and it made me worry something was wrong with my girls.Took them a few trys to produce larger eggs.

I bought her at 20 weeks old, but the stress of the move put her off laying for about a week. Her "sister" a RIR I got at the same age/time is also laying now, but not as regularly, and smaller eggs.

I'm still waiting...and waiting.... I guess it really does happen some day.

I am waiting no longer! I got my first egg two days ago and another one yesterday! This is my first egg ever since I'm new to owning chickens. I can't believe this is going to happen almost every day! I can't wait until the others start laying.

Wow, that's a BIG egg for a hens first lay!! What are you raising over there? Terrradactiles??. My hens have been laying for about three weeks now and the eggs are still only half that size...lowhen I found my first egg, it was like Christmas for me. Every day since has been easter!
