This is driving me crazy. I got one of those old 3 gallon watering cans with the outside shell that fits over the bucket and the circular trough at the bottom. Worked just fine for years but now it overflows, losing all the water overnight that is in the reservoir. There is no holes in the bottom or side. everything is smooth, no rust buildup anywhere. Any ideas why or how this is happening? Hate to throw it away, it is in still good condition

You obviously have an air leak in the cover losing its vacuum. Turn it over and fill it with water and you may be able to find where the air leak is. It is probably at a seam or the handle. Then seal it with silicone or something similar to get a couple more years out of it.

If its not level it will lose water as well. Mine have to be level and they are brand new if the ground is slightly unlevel bye bye water.
