I was changing their pond today and while I was doing that I also wanted to put new woodchips in their nestboxes since the old ones were kind of damp. Well I got through 3 nestboxes and what did I find in the fourth, a nest with 3 eggs! I quickly closed up the nest box and opened the lid to their shelter on the ground, it has straw in it. Well inside there was another nest with only one egg in it! I'm so excited! Obviously they are just starting to lay their clutches and should be sitting within a week or so! I'm just not sure who layed them. I have a ringed teal female, mandarin female, and a wood duck female. The three eggs were kind of small and tan and the one egg in the shelter was lighter and about the same size. I think they are coming from my mandie and woodie because they both have egg pouches. Just thought I would let you guys know, and there will definetly be pictures when the babies hatch out!
