Is there a place in the US to order test kits for Mycoplasma or, is this something that is only available through a vet?

I would only test one if they are having symptoms at the time. If they are not currently showing symptoms, the testing could be negative. In some states you might find less expensive testing through your state vet lab, and it is worth calling to ask. Some are better than others, especially if your state has more poultry. Always make it clear that it is for a backyard flock, not commercial, which could be less expensive. This list has most state vet labs listed:That's a great service that they do!
