Is there a place in the US to order test kits for Mycoplasma or, is this something that is only available through a vet?
 
That's a great service that they do! I just sent away for a few sample kit from them. Thank you for the link
I would only test one if they are having symptoms at the time. If they are not currently showing symptoms, the testing could be negative. In some states you might find less expensive testing through your state vet lab, and it is worth calling to ask. Some are better than others, especially if your state has more poultry. Always make it clear that it is for a backyard flock, not commercial, which could be less expensive. This list has most state vet labs listed:

I get nervous going through state labs the way things are in the world. What if it is mycoplasma or some other illness and they force me to cull my flock?
